ABOUT US

Established in 2013 by Samuel Torres, a passionate and dedicated PE teacher, volleyball coach, and professional athlete, ST7 Training Center has continued to thrive and grow. Coach Sammy’s vision of a training center where he can share his passion for volleyball and teach the fundamentals and skills necessary to succeed to young athletes in a healthy and encouraging environment has now grown to include two locations; one in Eustis and a second in Clermont. ST7 Training Center now offers training programs for every age and level of athlete including: club teams, mini club teams, little spiker’s recreational league, sand training, skills clinics, and more. ST7 remains grounded in the principles of discipline, respect, and the belief that one should “train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

The “S” and “T” in our name refer to our founder and director, Samuel Torres. “7” was the jersey number he wore during his career as a volleyball athlete. It is called a training center because we strongly believe that our training is not just about volleyball; we want to promote a healthy lifestyle involving volleyball and physical training.

MISSION: Teaching and serving through sports guided by God.

VISION: Teaching children and young people the skills and fundamentals of volleyball as well as coordination, strengthening of motor skills, and promoting physical training.  We will work hand in hand to bring the participants to reach their highest potential, in order to obtain college scholarships, and be able to become professionals through volleyball.  We want parents and players to feel they are part of our family, so when the players' years of competition are over, they can return to share their experiences and help the younger generation.

PHILOSOPHY

Discipline is the Philosophy of ST7

Discipline is often confused with punishment.  However, it is a key aspect in the education and formation of every human being. We found a relationship between discipline and disciple, one guides the other.  Discipline is instruction and direction, a disciple is one who receives instruction and direction. Our philosophy is to educate and promote respect in every situation. It is disciplining our disciples in order to help them achieve a healthy balance in their life both on and off the court.

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it" Proverbs 22:6

OUR COACHES

ST7 volleyball coaches are professionals with immense knowledge of the game from both a player’s and coach’s perspective. Each of our coaches has played volleyball. Several of our coaches have also played on the professional level. All ST7 coaches are IMPACT certified. IMPACT stands for increased mastery and professional application of coaching theory; this certification ensures that our coaches continue to grow in the knowledge and mastery of best coaching practices. Our coaches are also SafeSport certified ensuring their abilities to support their athletes both on and off the court. ST7 holds their coaches to high standards of ethical and professional behavior and all of our coaches have undergone a full background check. Our coaching staff is committed to excellence and their greatest reward is the success of your athlete.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. – 1 Corinthians 10:24

Our ST7 family is committed to serving both our athletes and our community.  On December 2013, our club teams were introduced to a family who has opened their hearts and homes to 16 children between the ages of 7 and 24.  This family so inspired Coach Sammy that he put a challenge out to his club teams.  He wanted to surprise the family with not only the everyday essentials, but also special personal Christmas gifts for each and every child.  Our four club teams came together to gather, sort, and wrap gifts for each and every family member.  The teams met and exceeded Coach Sammy’s challenge and were able to surprise the family and warm everyone’s hearts at their practice, December 18th.

Thanks to all the ST7 Parents and athletes to make this possible.
